Pace’s website is built to work with a screen reader, a keyboard or a phone.
If any part of it doesn’t work for you, call 630-395-2260 or write to us, and tell us which page you were on and what happened.
How each page is built
Every page is built to the same eight rules.
01
Contrast
Text has a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1 against its background, and that includes text on photographs and films.
02
Keyboard
Every link, button and form field works from the keyboard, and a ring in Pace blue shows which one has the focus.
03
Phones
Every page fits a phone’s screen, so you never have to scroll sideways to read it.
04
Motion
Films and moving drawings hold still if your device is set to ask for reduced motion.
05
Without JavaScript
Every page can be read and every form can be sent, even with JavaScript switched off.
06
Photographs
Every photograph has a written description, so that a screen reader can say what it shows.
07
Forms
Every field has a visible label, and if something is wrong, the mistake is named beside the field it belongs to.
08
Headings
Each page has one main heading and labeled regions, and a link at the top skips straight to the content.
A problem
