Mini PCs, medical carts and on-site technicians
We imaged and asset-tagged nearly 4,000 HP mini PCs on one order, built more than 150 medical carts and placed PC-support technicians on site.
Pace Systems sets up laptops, desktops and tablets for school districts, health systems, colleges and businesses at more than 100 stations in our lab at 2040 Corporate Lane, Naperville. We record each serial number in your equipment register and hold the order until your building is ready, so your IT staff hand out devices instead of setting them up.

The imaging lab
The lab sits beside our receiving desk and our warehouse, so a pallet of new laptops goes from the dock to a station and back onto the shelves without leaving the building. A district’s rollout usually runs to 1,300 to 1,600 laptops at a time.
That way your IT staff aren’t tied up unboxing and imaging, and the devices they receive are ready to hand to a teacher, a nurse or a new employee.
More than 100 stations

Each device
They all make the same five stops in our lab, and the Pace Hub shows your order as At Pace until it leaves.
01 / 05
Our receiving desk records each serial number against your order as the cartons come in, so we know exactly what arrived before anything is set up.

02 / 05
Each device gets your image, i.e. the operating system, the settings and the applications your IT staff chose, so the laptop in one classroom matches the laptop in the next.

Your asset tag goes on each device in the lab, so it’s labeled for your records before it ever reaches a desk or a classroom.
LabeledBefore it leaves Naperville
04 / 05
Each device is tested at its station before it leaves the lab, so a fault is caught in Naperville rather than on someone’s first day with it.

Its serial number lands in your equipment register in the Pace Hub, so your staff never key it in by hand.
Carts and stands
Our technicians mount the monitor, fit the computer and dress the cables inside the base. The finished carts stand in rows in our warehouse until its buildings are ready for them.
We also assemble Balance Box stands, mount the SMART or Promethean displays on them and install them in the classrooms, so the display arrives in the classroom ready to use.

On the day
If your buildings are in the Chicago area, our technicians carry the devices to the desks and classrooms and set them up where they’ll be used. If they’re farther away, the devices arrive already set up, so your staff only have to hand them out.

Held and delivered
Our building has 40,000 square feet for the offices, the lab, the warehouse and the loading dock, and every item in the warehouse is tagged to its order and staged on the shelves with the rest of it, so we can send yours out the day your building is ready. Your equipment register in the Pace Hub shows what we’re holding for you, line by line.
Around Chicago, nearly every delivery goes out on our 26-foot or 16-foot box trucks. Anywhere else in the US a carrier takes it, and you’ll see the tracking number in the Hub.
Rollouts
Most of our work comes from customers who come back year after year, because the devices arrive the way their IT staff asked for them, counted, tagged and already on the register.

Computer programs twice a year
Twice a year, UChicago Medicine buys a program of new computers from us on one blanket purchase order, and we image, asset-tag and install them.

We assembled and installed mobile display stands, and delivered the district’s laptops - 1,300 to 1,400 at a time.
Questions buyers ask
Yes, as long as the order is placed in time, since our lab in Naperville has more than 100 stations and we set up district rollouts of 1,300 to 1,600 laptops at a time. We recommend telling your account manager the date school starts when you order, so that the lab’s work can be planned around that date.
Imaging puts a prepared copy of the operating system, the settings and the applications onto each laptop, so every laptop starts out exactly the same. We use your image, and then we add your asset tag, test the device and record its serial number.
Yes, every serial number is recorded when the order reaches us and is in your equipment register in the Pace Hub before the devices leave the lab, and each device carries your asset tag.
Yes, if you’re in the Chicago area, we deliver on our trucks and our technicians install the devices where they go, and on a large rollout we’ve put more than 20 technicians on one site in a single day. Anywhere else in the US, the devices ship by carrier, set up and ready to use.
No, many orders don’t need any setup, and those ship straight to you from the vendor or the distributor. We only set up the devices you ask us to.
A rollout quote
We’ll quote the devices and the setup together on your contract, and your account manager checks every line before the quote goes out. If you’re working to a school start or a go-live date, put it in the request.
