The eight services

  1. Pace’s warehouse in Naperville, with pallets of boxed equipment on the floor and more stacked on the racks behind them.
    01

    IT hardware

We sell laptops, desktops, tablets, displays and servers from HP, Dell, Lenovo, Apple, Microsoft and more, with the software licenses that go on them. If you’ve already received a quote from another business, we can give you a competitive 2nd quote within a business day.

  2. Pace’s imaging lab mid-job: long benches of monitors, each showing a computer being imaged, and a pallet of boxed devices waiting.
    02

    Device deployment

When an order needs setup, our lab images, asset-tags and tests each device at one of more than 100 stations. We’ve handled nearly 4,000 mini PCs on a single order.

  3. A wireless access point installed flush in a ceiling, inside a locked white enclosure set into the ceiling grid, its blue status light on.
    03

    Networks and Wi-Fi

We configure and label the switches, access points and firewalls in our lab. Our IBEW Local 134 electricians around Chicago pull the Category 6 cable and the fiber they run on.

    Managed IT

Managed IT clients reach a real person at our help desk 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We monitor, patch and run EDR on the devices we manage. Cybersecurity services like vulnerability scans, gap assessments, and staff training can be added on top.

    05

    Security systems

We’ve installed tens of thousands of cameras. Our crews put in the cameras, card readers and intercoms and set up the software that runs them, under Illinois Private Alarm Contractor Agency License No. 127001360.

  6. A finished multipurpose room with a ceiling projector, a robotic camera, pendant loudspeakers hung from a timber-slat ceiling, a lectern and round tables.
    06

    Audio-visual

We design, install and program the AV in classrooms, meeting rooms, council chambers and auditoriums, with Crestron as our leading platform. A room isn’t finished until it passes our written acceptance checklist.

    Software

The Pace Municipal Suite has more than 650 municipal clients and a 98% renewal rate. We also write custom software, including the links that let business systems from different vendors share their data.

A quote

Send Pace your list, and one account manager quotes it.

Your list can be for one service or for several, in whatever form you have it. A spreadsheet, a PDF, a part number or even a photograph of last year’s order is enough for us to start, because the account manager for your area checks every line before the quote goes out, and standard items are usually quoted the same business day.

One account

One account manager quotes everything in your building.

For instance, a university can have us image its laptops before they reach campus, while our crews fit the classrooms with projectors, microphones and lecture capture and put Axis cameras and HID card readers on the doors. It all goes on one account, so one quote covers it and the Pace Hub lists every order in one place, which means nobody on your end has to keep track of several vendors.

Eight lines of work at Pace

The laptops and desktops go on the same quote as the network and the cameras, and the quote names the contract you’re buying on.

IT hardware and software

Anything your building isn’t ready for yet waits in our warehouse, and your equipment register in the Pace Hub shows what we’re holding for you.

Device deployment

Every access point runs on Category 6 cable back to its closet, and at the end of the job you get the drawings and the serial numbers for all of it.

Networks and Wi-Fi

Managed IT clients call our help desk at any hour. A local technician is available for routine on-site visits on the days you set with us.

Managed IT

The cameras and the door readers run on one Genetec system, so your staff can watch the video and manage the doors from the same place.

Security systems

The meeting rooms and classrooms are programmed before we hand them over, along with the as-built drawings, the equipment list and the programming files.

Audio-visual

A police or fire department can run its shifts on Pace Scheduler, which our developers write and support in Naperville.

The Pace Municipal Suite

If your IT team needs more hands for the move-in, we can place a technician with you for as long as the work lasts, with the time tracked by the hour.

IT staffing

At the end of a job

Every installation ends with drawings, serial numbers and training.

Before anything starts, our written quote says what is and isn’t included. Anything we set up or install is configured and tested in our lab or shop before it reaches your building, so the days on site go to installing it.

When the crews finish, you get the drawings of what we put in and the serial number of every device and the programming files for the rooms. We train your staff on it, so your IT team can look after it without waiting on us.

The people

The engineers, technicians and electricians are Pace employees.

  • 150+

    Pace employees

That’s everyone from the account manager who writes your quote to the help desk that answers your staff.

  • 600+

Projects and service calls a year

That works out to about a dozen every week of the year.

  • 20+

Technicians on site in a single day

On a large rollout, they carry the devices to the desks and classrooms and set them up there.

Your account manager writes the quote, and our engineers design the network and rooms. Our lab technicians image the devices, the warehouse holds and ships them, and once they’re in use, our help desk answers your staff. The Pace Municipal Suite is written by our software developers in the same building.

On site, our IBEW Local 134 electricians pull the cable while our installers and programmers finish the rooms.

  1. Safety

Our 56-page construction safety program covers every crew, and each site also gets a written plan.

  2. Union

We’re a signatory contractor of IBEW Local 134, so the electricians who pull your cable are Local 134 members.
