Wintrust Arena at McCormick Place
Cisco network and broadcast cabling
We put in the arena’s Cisco network and the cable that carries its broadcasts to eight parts of the arena.
Case studyDevicesIT staffing
Twice a year, UChicago Medicine buys a program of new computers from Pace Systems, imaged, asset-tagged and installed.
About2,200laptops imaged and asset-tagged in one program
UChicago Medicine buys its computers in programs of several months. Instead of sending us one order after another, the health system puts a whole program on one blanket purchase order, so its IT team has one order and one company to deal with for the hardware, the imaging and the installation.
In one program we imaged and asset-tagged about 2,200 laptops. Another brought about 1,000 HP EliteBook laptops and about 2,000 mini desktops, with their monitors and thin clients, and a third has more than 1,000 HP mini PCs in it.
At one of the more than 100 stations in our lab, we load each computer’s software, put on its asset tag and record its serial number, and then our technicians install it.
We also place field engineers with UChicago Medicine, and they work as part of its IT team at the health system’s sites, with every hour they work tracked.

The programs add up to tens of thousands of devices, and each one goes on a single blanket purchase order.
