Power and controls for SageGlass
With Mid-States Glass, we installed and commissioned the power and controls for the 76 SageGlass units in the lounge.
Case studyElectrical
Pace Systems moved the power at O’Hare’s Guard Post 1H onto a new panel, so the airport could replace the booth.
92square feet of prefabricated booth, on a new 100-amp panel our electricians put in
Guard Post 1H’s booth was old and had to be replaced while the airport’s security work and the traffic around the post carried on, so every shutdown of the power had to be planned around them.
The new booth is a 92-square-foot prefabricated unit that runs on a 120/208-volt, single-phase, 100-amp panel, so the existing electrical service at the post had to be moved and adapted to feed it.
Working with McDonagh Construction, we coordinated each shutdown with the airport’s operations, disconnected the existing electrical service and moved it, then ran new conduit and conductors with the junction boxes, grounding and supports they needed.
Because the booth runs on a single 100-amp panel, we changed the feeder arrangement to suit it, then connected the lighting, the HVAC, the heating, the hand dryer, the water heater and the rest of the booth’s equipment so that every piece of it has a dedicated circuit.
Last, we completed the testing required before the booth could go into daily security use.
The new booth is ready for daily security work, and the airport kept running while we replaced it.
